Fred Meijer Clinton-Ionia-Shiawassee Trail
The Village of Pewamo and its surrounding areas celebrates the long awaited Fred Meijer CIS Trail!
We gratefully acknowledge the CIS Friends Group, the Mid-West Michigan Trail Authority, MDOT, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Fred Meijer Foundation for their tireless efforts in making the trail a reality!
We welcome trail users to take a moment to rest and refresh in Pewamo as they journey on the trail or to consider using Pewamo as the site to begin a trail experience.
In conjunction with the Friends of the Fred Meijer CIS Trail we would like to share the following guidelines:
No unauthorized motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
Stay on the trail. Respect adjacent private property and do not trespass.
Obey all signs posted along the trail
When passing announce your intention: “Passing on your left”
Keep pets on a six-foot leash. Clean up waste.
Alcohol or illegal drugs are NOT permitted on the trail.
No hunting, dumping, cooking, campfires, or camping.
Open daylight hours only.
Please preserve our trail – DO NOT LITTER.
Keep your speed appropriate for the trail conditions and user volume.
Equestrians are NOT permitted on the trail.
Snowmobiles are NOT permitted on the trail.
If you see anyone violating any of these rules, please call 1-800-292-7800. Push 1 for Law. That takes you to the Poaching Hotline. Make your report there. Please try to include where the violation occurred on the trail and the time. This report is then sent directly to a conservation officer.
ANOTHER SOURCE TO REPORT CONCERNS
CIS Trail Hotline: The City of St. Johns has provided a voice mail box. You can leave a message to report problems along the trail, such as branches/trees down, blockages, holes and unauthorized uses right from your phone at 989-224-8944 ext. 285. You should note on the message where the problem is (nearest road crossing or mile marker) and your contact information. But, please note—this is a voice mail box. It is monitored on a daily basis. If there is an emergency, you will need to call 9-1-1. You can also email Barry Culham, trail manager, at cistrail@gmail.com.
